Wire Jewelry Techniques | How To Make An Anklet

How To Make Wire Jewelry | DIY Anklet Tutorial

It doesn’t get much simpler than this delicate anklet (or bracelet – you choose). Update a plain chain with sparkly little beads that catch the light with your every move. This is a perfect confidence-boosting project for newbie wire-wrappers. You’ll dance, and your anklet will dance with you!

Supplies

  • – Your wrist or ankle measurement in fine gauge gold linked chain
  • – 10-20 24 gauge gold head pins (depending on how many dangles you like)
  • – 10-20 seed (or similar size) beads
  • – 1 gold split spring ring clasp
  • – one small 22 gauge gold split jump ring
  • – one large 22 gauge gold soldered jump ring

Step 1.

Start by making a basic bracelet/anklet by adding a closure to your chain. Open the split ring on your spring ring clasp and attach one end of the chain. Close the ring.

Step 4.

Begin to make a loop above the bead. Thread the end of the wire through a link of the chain about one inch from the clasp end. Close the wire loop and snip excess.

Step 5.

Ta daaaa! Your first dangle! Here you have options: You can stick with single beaded dangles around the rest of your bracelet/anklet, or…

…You can make clusters of multiple beaded dangles! To make a cluster, simply attach another dangle through the same chain link as another. I chose to mix it up and make a cluster every third dangle or so, keeping the rest single dangles.

Step 6.

Continue adding your choice of dangles/clusters every one inch or so along the chain. Don’t worry about spacing your dangles exactly one inch apart. I promise it won’t be noticeable if your spacing is off two or three little chain links.
