Australia skipper Pat Cummins found himself on the floor due to his excitement of appealing for an LBW on India’s Ravindra Jadeja on Day 2 of the 5th and final Border Gavaskar Trophy Test.
It happened in the last ball of the 27th over with Jadeja batting at 2 and he got rapped on the pads by Cummins’ delivery. The Australian went for a big appeal and tumbled over on his followthrough but still continued the appeal from on the ground. Unfortunately though, the onfield umpire did not rule in his favour as Jadeja survived.
India ended the day with 141/6, leading by 145 runs with Washington Sundar and Jadeja in the middle with Cummins taking 1 wicket thus far in this innings, that of a rampaging Rishabh Pant.

Earlier, Pant had conjured up a spectacular 33-ball-61 to somehow keep India afloat even as Australia remained in driver’s seat in the fifth Test.
Pant’s knock prevented Indian second innings from falling apart with the visitors top and lower order struggling to negotiate Aussie attack on a track that was aided seam and bounce.
This was after unheralded bowling duo of Prasidh Krishna (3/42) and Nitish Reddy (2/32) complemented Mohammed Siraj (3/51) and Jasprit Bumrah (2/33) to shoot Australia out for 181.
On a difficult track, Virat Kohli (6) and his top-order colleagues found Scott Boland (3/38) too hot to handle. Kohli lost his wicket on outside the off stump line for the eighth successive time in this series.
The match is certain to end on the third day but if India will be able to defend the total will very much depend on whether skipper Jasprit Bumrah is fit to bowl full tilt.
Bumrah underwent precautionary scans for an unspecified injury after he left the field in the post-lunch session in which he bowled just one over.
