Uber Cup 2024, India vs Japan, Quarter-final Live: Ashmita Chaliha-led India will take on multiple-time winners Japan in a tough Uber Cup quarterfinal tie in Chengdu on Thursday.

Chaliha takes on Aya Ohori in the the first match, with Akane Yamaguchi absent. Isharani Baruah and Tanvi Sharma are the other two singles nominees, with no changes in the doubles lineup. Anmol Kharb is not featuring for India after her injury against China on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, India lost 0-5 against powerhouses China. Isharani Baruah lost against Olympic champion Chen Yufei. In the first doubles tie, national champions Priya Konjengbam and Shruti Mishra then went down against world no. 1 combination of Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan. Anmol Kharb had to retire hurt against Han Yue. Simran Singhi and Ritika Thaker lost against Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning Tanvi Sharma.
