Tata Steel Chess Tournament 2025, Round 2 Live Updates, Arjun Erigaisi vs Anish Giri, Vladimir Fedoseev vs Gukesh D, Nodirbek Abdusattorov vs Leon Luke Mendonca, Pentala Harikrishna vs Praggnanandhaa R: After defeating home favourite Anish Giri in the first round, the youngest world champion in chess history, Gukesh, will be back on the board at Wijk aan Zee taking on Vladimir Fedoseev.

Meanwhile, the top ranked Indian in the world, Arjun Erigaisi, will take on Anish Giri in the second round after losing to the veteran Pentala Harikrishna on Saturday.

Hari will face another member of India’s current prodigy generation — Praggnanandhaa. Pragg was lucky to escape to a draw on Saturday against Nodirbek Abdusattorov. The Uzbekistan star will take on India’s Leon Luke Mendonca today.

Meanwhile, in the challengers section, GM Vaishali Rameshbabu will face Lu Miaoyi while IM Divya Deshmukh takes on
Thai Dai Van Nguyen.

Just when checkmate seemed inevitable, with Gukesh running out of options — and out of time on the clock to think — Anish Giri made a blunder that will haunt the attic of his mind for years to come.

In one hasty move of the wrist, Anish Giri had handed his 18-year-old opponent a get-out-of-jail-free card. Gukesh, who won the world championship last month on a similar blunder from his opponent Ding Liren, is not one to refuse gifts across the board.
