Soorma Hockey Club vs Odisha Warriors Live Score, Women’s Hockey India League 2024-25 Final Live Scorecard Online Today Match: The league’s two best teams, JSW Soorma Hockey Club will take on Odisha Warriors in the final of the inaugural women’s Hockey India League final at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi on Sunday.
After six matches each in the pool phase, Soorma Hockey Club topped the table in the league with 13 points and Odisha Warriors claimed the second spot with 11 points. In a four-team tournament, all the teams have played three other teams twice. Sharchi Rarh Bengal Tigers and Delhi SG Pipers have been eliminated with seven points and five points respectively. The top two teams meet now to determine the first ever Women’s HIL champions.
In the league phase meeting, Soorma Hockey Club won the first encounter 2-1 and the second game ended up in a goalless draw in regulation time, following which the Odisha Warriors won a bonus point in a penalty shootout. The two coaches going head-to-head today are no strangers either, with Soorma’s Jude Menezes (former India goalkeeper) and Odisha’s Janneke Schopman (former India head coach) quite familiar with each other from their clashes between Japan and India in recent times.
Soorma were the most prolific scoring team in the league phase, with 15 goals but struggled from Penalty Corners, scoring just once. Odisha, meanwhile, scored 11 goals overall and five of those came from Yibbi Jansen in PC situations. Read more about the Dutch drag flicking superstar here.
