Former Manchester United player Gary Neville found himself in a tight situation when World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestler and known Liverpool fan Sheamus had him in a submission move and jokingly asked him to say the Merseyside club were going to win the English Premier League.

In an episode of “It’s Called Soccer,” both the England international and the Irish wrestler discussed wrestling and football before Neville asked Sheamus what it was like being a wrestler. The WWE star gave Neville a first-hand experience when he had the football player in a Cloverleaf submission.

What made it even funnier was that while applying the move, Sheamus constantly yelled at Neville to say that “Liverpool are going to win the league” and “Liverpool are No.1”. To which Neville refused to relent and after the wrestler let him, go everyone present had a good laugh.

United and Liverpool share a long and historic rivalry but since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, the Old Trafford unit are in a state of flux while their Anfield rivals have gone from strength to strength winning a Champions League as well as the Premier League.

The Reds are on course to win another Premier League Trophy this season under new manager Arne Slot, leading the table with 46 points and are 6 points clear of 2nd placed Arsenal and 12 points clear of defending champions Manchester City.

United, meanwhile, will be lucky if they finish in the top 10 with Ruben Amorim’s side languishing at 13th with just 23 points after losing 4 of their last 5 matches in all competitions. They, however, miraculously dug out a draw against Liverpool on January 5 in the league.
