Fabric Wall Art | Home Decorating Ideas

If you’re looking for cheap and easy DIY home decor, this would be it. Sometimes, I’m just not satisfied with the home decoration that I have. I like to switch it up from time to time and I’m constantly looking for DIY craft projects that will spruce up my home. So when I came across this  DIY fabric wall art, I knew I just had to make it.

It only takes a few minute of your time and if you get bored, just take some new fabric and remove the old. It’s that easy and budget-friendly too. So what are we waiting for, let’s begin making this super quick and easy DIY craft project!

Materials you’ll need for the fabric wall art:

  •  20×25 inch cork board
  • fabric (any color and design)
  • staple gun and staples

Step 1

Measure your fabric and cut it. You’ll need about two inches of allowance from the edge of the canvas. Be sure that the backside of the fabric is facing you. Lay it out flat, avoiding any wrinkles.

Tip: Always measure the material you are going to cover then measure your fabric. This will ensure that it will be have full coverage.

Step 2

Take your cork board and center it on your fabric. Be sure that the allowances you left are spaced out evenly.

Step 3

Begin by stapling the center of each side. Repeat this on all sides. Starting from the center will ensure that your fabric won’t get wrinkly once you’re done. Then go around the edges pulling the fabric away from you as you staple. This will make our finished product nice and stretched.

Step 4

When you reach the corner, fold the end of the fabric (like how you would wrap a gift) then staple it in place. Be sure that you get all the fabric when you do this. Repeat it for all four corners and continue stapling on all the edges.

Hanging Tip: Take some string and staple it at the back as you’re doing the edges. When you’re ready, hang and admire your craft work!

And you’re done!

Wasn’t that fastest wall art home decor you ever made? And the best part is you can easily customize it to fit your taste and to follow any trends without breaking the bank. Make a bunch and decorate every room in your home!

You can use almost anything for this fabric wall art. In case you don’t have a cork board or don’t want to use one, you can get creative by using a blank canvas or even Styrofoam. And it’s not only the materials you’d like to cover that you can change, you can also use different kinds of fabric too. You can try using a pillow case cover to match your bedroom design, napkins for your kitchen or even assorted colorful bandanas for your kid’s bedroom. The possibilities are endless. It’s such a cool DIY project I’m sure I’ll be making a lot of times!
