PAK vs ENG: What batting records did Harry Brook, Joe Root and Co. break in Multan?

England’s batting order piled on a massive 823/7 in the first innings on a docile Multan pitch. The batters feasted upon the Pakistani bowlers. Harry Brook scored a sublime triple hundred and talisman Joe Root contributed with a double hundred.

The visitors managed to break a few batting records on Thursday here are a few:

2nd fastest to 300

Brook has also become the second-fastest player to score a triple hundred in the history of Test cricket. He got there in 310 balls with Virender Sehwag getting there fastest in 278 balls.

6th Englishmen to score

Brook scored 317 runs from just 322 balls to become the sixth English batter to score a triple hundred.

6th most number of tons from Root

Joe Root with his double hundred has separated himself from Younis Khan, Sunil Gavaskar, Brian Lara and Mahela Jayawardene who have scored 34 tons in their Test careers.

4th highest partnership ever

Brook has stitched a gigantic partnership of 454 runs with Joe Root who himself managed to put on a 262-run score. The partnership between the Yorkshiremen is the fourth highest between them ever.

4th highest Test score

England has declared at 823/7 which is the fourth-highest team total. Brook’s 317, Root’s 262, Ben Duckett’s 84 and Zack Crawley’s 78 are the chief contributions to the massive score.
