KL Rahul has been named in Karnataka’s 17-member squad for their final league match of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group C. Karnataka will take on table-topper Haryana on January 30 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Rahul had missed the previous game against Punjab due to an elbow injury but is fit and will practice with the team on Tuesday and Wednesday.
It will be KL Rahul’s first appearance for Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy since appearing against Bengal in Kolkata in 2020. His last domestic First-class appearance came during the Duleep Trophy in September last year when he turned out for India A in a losing cause.

Karnataka are placed third in Group C with 19 points behind leaders Haryana (26) and Kerala (21).
Karnataka hammered Punjab by an innings and 207 runs in their last match. Karnataka can qualify for the knockouts by bonus points if they claim their second such win of the season over Haryana.
After the Sydney Test, India head coach Gautam Gambhir had said that he would want everyone to play domestic cricket. “I would always like everyone to play domestic cricket. That is how much importance domestic cricket needs to be given.”
In February last year, then BCCI secretary Jay Shah had written to top cricketers, centrally contracted as well as with India A, warning them that domestic cricket remains a “critical yardstick for selection” to the national team and non-participation will have “severe implications”.
“Legends like Sunil Gavaskar exemplified this dedication, playing club cricket the morning they arrived from an international tour. Domestic cricket was seen not just as a commitment but as a responsibility and a source of pride,” Shah had written.
