Kalki Koechlin once again spoke about the hard facts about Bollywood and that is how ageism in women is not very warmly welcomed in this industry. Kalki who has proved her mettle as an actor in every film and web series she has done spoke about doing less work and revealed how people are harsh towards women who are above 40. Kalki in her latest interview with HT got candid about people’s treatment towards women above 40. Kalki mentioned how she is choosing less work after her daughter’s born as she wants to spend more time with her. Kalki added that she is only doing projects that hit her differently. While adding other facts in the same interview the Made In Heaven 2 actress revealed,” “People are so harsh towards women over 40. They don’t know anything about women over 40. They don’t know what happens to our bodies, they don’t know much about menopause. That also because we are not writing about it”. She added, “But there is another truth to it too. The work comes few and far between. Even though you have so many platforms and so many different mediums, getting a quality piece of work is once in a while thing. We have to wait it out. Every script that you get is not going to turn out to be a gem”

Kalki made her acting debut with Anurag Kashyap‘s Dev D in 2009. Later she gained fame with her portrayal in commercial cinema Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani along with Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara and more. Kalki even became a force to reckon with after her stint in Made In Heaven seasons 1 and 2. The actress was last seen in Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan where she played Siddhanth Chaturvedi’s love interest in the film, the film started Ananya Panday as the female lead.
