AI – A Bliss or A Curse?
Artificial intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence processed by machines, especially computer systems.
Specific applications of ‘AI’ include expert systems, natural language processing, speech recognition, and machine vision.
Artificial intelligence is intelligence demonstrated by machines, as opposed to the natural intelligence displayed by animals including humans.
Stanford’s John McCarthy, seminal figure of artificial intelligence, dies at 84. McCarthy created the term “artificial intelligence” and was a towering figure in computer science at Stanford.
What is Artificial Intelligence?Let machines mimic humans
Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like humans and mimic their actions.
What is artificial intelligence used for?Common Usages of AI
Artificial intelligence is widely used to provide personalised recommendations to people, based for example on their previous searches and purchases or other online behaviour. AI is hugely important in commerce: optimising products, planning inventory, logistics etc.
How is AI used in daily life?AI in your Daily Life
Prominent examples of AI software used in everyday life include voice assistants, image recognition for face unlock in mobile phones, and ML-based financial fraud detection.
- Voice Assistants – Digital assistants like Siri, Google Home, and Alexa
- Entertainment Streaming Apps – Netflix, Spotify, and Hulu
- Personalized Marketing – eCommerce Industries
- Smart Input Keyboards – you can experience it on your smartphone keyboard
- Navigation and Travel – Google Maps
- Self-driving Vehicles –
- Facial Recognition Technologies –
- Security and Surveillance
- Internet of Things
How Artificial Intelligence could be dangerous? In the Future
Artificial intelligence is shaping the future of humanity across nearly every industry. It is already the main driver of emerging technologies like big data, robotics, and IoT, and it will continue to act as a technological innovator for the foreseeable future.
BUT…..
Imagine the disasters of this technology – It will spur job loss because of automation systems, it will violate your privacy, Deepfakes(yes you will never find a clue how it will spur the fake), Algorithmic bias caused by bad data, Socioeconomic inequality, Market volatility, and Weapon automatization are few of the fears.
AI Bias: Since AI algorithms are built by humans, they can have built-in bias by those who either intentionally or inadvertently introduce them into the algorithm.
Also, the Big thing is that the machines with AI have no emotions and no out-of-the-box thinking and this lacking could trigger a massive blow in the human race because the human herd survives on positive emotions, and out-of-the-box thinking power.
Yes, Right! Good Post. machines shouldn’t Replace Us.
