India Women vs Australia Women (IND-W vs AUS-W) 3rd ODI LIVE Cricket Score Card HIGHLIGHTS: India vice captain Smriti Mandhana century went in vain as India were bundled out for 215 runs, losing the 3rd ODI match against Australia by 83 runs.
Earlier, chasing 298, India lost Richa Ghosh, Harleen Deol and captain Harmanpreet Kaur pretty quickly before suffering a collapse in the tail-end of the innings, going from 189/4 to 215 all out.
Opting to bat first, Australia Women began strongly, with openers Phoebe Litchfield and Georgia Voll exhibiting outstanding strokes. The pair stacked up to 58/0 by the end of Powerplay, putting India Women on the back foot. However, Arundhati Reddy turned the game around with a furious spell that knocked off Voll and Litchfield in the same over. She then removed Ellyse Perry for four and Beth Mooney for ten, leaving Australia battling at 78/4 in the 17th over. Annabel Sutherland and Ashleigh Gardner then stabilized the ship with a key 96-run partnership. Sutherland completed her second ODI century and she was eventually bowled out at 110 in the final over, while McGrath remained undefeated on 56, with the total close to 300, 298/6. They also set a new record for the highest team score in a Women’s ODI in Perth.
Arundhati Reddy was India Women’s standout performer, bowling 4/26 in 10 overs, the greatest figures ever recorded by a visiting bowler at this ground. Unfortunately, the rest of the bowling assault struggled to control the Australian hitters, as losing catches and unpredictable lines cost the team deeply. India Women now have a formidable challenge in chasing down 299 and regaining some respect in this series.
