IND vs AUS 4th Test Day 1, Live Cricket Score Updates: India and Australia will resume the Border-Gavaskar Trophy when they set out for the fourth Test on Boxing Day at a packed Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday.

While the atmosphere at the MCG hots up, the players and fans will also brace themselves for scorching weather conditions that could have a huge impact on the result of the fourth Test. With the batting not living up to expectations, India could prepare for a slew of changes, with reports also hinting at skipper Rohit Sharma’s return back to the top of the order. That could mean the in-form KL Rahul could see another change in position, to No. 3, as the management looks for more solidity in the top-order. While that will put an underfiring Rohit in focus, a lack of big scores could also Shubman Gill to the brink.

With the conditions likely to wear out the pitch quicker, India could opt for a second spinner in Washington Sundar, pushing Gill into a probable toss-up with Nitish Kumar Reddy for one spot. Meanwhile, Australia are punting on another opening debutant in Sam Konstas while Scott Boland returns, replacing the injured Josh Hazlewood.
