While Mayank Yadav will miss the series owing to injury, Nitish Kumar Reddy has been called up for India’s Test squad for the tour of Australia. (BCCI on X)
India announced their 15-member squad for the four T20I series against South Africa on Friday. While Suryakumar Yadav will continue to lead the side in the shortest format, there are a few changes in the composition of the squad that played the three T20Is against Bangladesh.
Mayank Yadav and Shivam Dube were unavailable for selection owing to injuries. While Mayank made his debut for India last month, Dube was part of India’s World Cup winning squad this summer. Also out of contention is Riyan Parag, dealing with a long-term resolution of his chronic right shoulder injury, a statement from the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) read.
Another notable absentee is Nitish Kumar Reddy, who has been called up to India’s Test squad for the tour of Australia later in November.
Among the new names added to the squad from the Bangladesh series are Axar Patel, who’s currently part of the Test squad against New Zealand. Vijaykumar Vyshak of Karnataka has received his maiden call up as does Ramandeep Singh, who was part of Kolkata Knight Riders’ IPL winning squad and is currently part of the India A set up in the Emerging Asia Cup.
