This is the first time since the T20 World Cup 2007 semi-final win over Australia that India will feature in a T20I at the iconic venue. In their last T20I against Bangladesh in Hyderabad in October, India smashed the highest score (297/6) by a Full-Member side with Sanju Samson scoring his maiden T20I hundred.
The Suryakumar Yadav-led side is likely to continue a similar combination in their playing XI besides a few forced changes with Riyan Parag, Mayank Yadav and Shivam Dube being forced out due to injuries. Instead, a fresh set of players in Ramandeep Singh, Vijaykumar Vyshak and Yash Dayal will be line to make their debuts against the Proteas.
