India vs Australia, IND vs AUS 5th Test Predicted Playing 11 Today Match: With the fifth and final Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy set to begin on Friday at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), India see themselves faced with a plethora of decisions to make, none that would be easy. Doubts have already begun to spark as Gautam Gambhir attended the press conference without the company of Indian captain Rohit Sharma, and when asked about his absence, the head coach simply said it is enough for the head coach to be attending the conference. Questions were also raised about the finalisation of the Playing 11.
“We will have a look at the pitch, and then decide the playing 11,” said Gautam Gambhir.
Another setback that crept up on the Indian team was that Akash Deep sustained a back injury, and will not be playing the next match as confirmed by Gambhir. Looking at his performances in India A vs Australia A, Prasidh Krishna could be the one to take Akash Deep’s place, if not for Harshit Rana.
It is imperative for India to win the match in Sydney, not only to retain the Border Gavaskar Trophy, but to also have a chance at the final spot in Lord’s for the World Test Championship final. And looking at his performances throughout the year, there are rumours that Rohit Sharma could potentially step down from captaincy for the upcoming match, if not exclude himself from the 11.
