ICC unveils 2025-29 FTP for women: Check out India’s schedule in the cycle

The International Cricket Council on Monday unveiled the 2025-2029 Future Tours Programme (FTP) for the 4th ICC Women’s Championship which sees Zimbabwe making their debut in the cycle.

The aforementioned cycle is set to shape the lineup for the 2029 Women’s Cricket World Cup which will expand to feature 11 teams.

“The format of the Women’s Championship is that each team will compete against eight other teams, maintaining the format of four home and four away series. Across 44 series, a total of 132 ODIs will be played, with each series consisting of three matches,” according to the ICC statement.

The Indian team will host England, Australia, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe at home while they will face off against New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies and Ireland away.

The FTP cycle will have a ICC event every year, starting with the Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2025, the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2026, the Women’s Champions Trophy in 2027 and the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2028.

There will also be a glut of tri-series tournaments before these ICC events with England hosting India and New Zealand in a three-team T20I series before the 2026 T20 World Cup while hosts Ireland will take on Pakistan and the West Indies. Sri Lanka and the West Indies too will host tri-series in 2027 and 2028, respectively.

Festive offer

Australia, England, India, South Africa and the West Indies have also committed to multi-format series that include Tests as well as ODIs and T20Is. The Aussies lead with the most planned series and will face England, India, and South Africa twice each and the West Indies once.
