Jose Mourinho took a brutal dig at Pep Guardiola’s accomplishments at Manchester City after the Spaniard recently said that he had won twice as many titles than the Portuguese.
Guardiola said this when answering questions regarding his gesture against his side’s defeat to Liverpool last week in which he was seen showing 6 fingers to the Anfield crowd indicating his Premier League titles.
That gesture by Pep harkened back to something Mourinho had done at his time at Manchester United when he demanded respect from journalists reminding them that 3 had three Premier League titles before he was sacked months later
Reacting to that, Pep had said, ‘I hope not in my case… He won three, I won six.. but we are the same like that. It was just to make our fans feel that what we have done is extraordinary. I want to prove that we are an incredible football club. Sooner or later it’s going to be the end but I will try to extend as much as possible for the best of my club.’
Mourinho clapped back on these comments saying to MailSports, “Guardiola said something to me yesterday. He won six trophies and I won three, but I won fairly and cleanly. If I lost, I want to congratulate my opponent because he was better than me. I don’t want to win by dealing with 150 lawsuits.’
The comment was in reference to the 115 charges that the defending champions Manchester City are facing for allegedly breaching the English FA’S financial fair play rules.
