How to Make a Leather Necklace | DIY Necklace
Do you want the perfect accessory for fall? What about a statement leather necklace? Here is an easy tutorial to make a cute leaf DIY necklace. You only need a few supplies and it will take you about 15 minutes to complete.
Supplies:
- Leather or faux-leather
- Jewelry wire
- Small beads
- Chain
- Clasp and small rings
- Needle
- Scissors
- Pliers
Step 1
Cut a piece of wire of 6’ length. Cut 5 leather triangles. The dimension of the triangles are 2’ for each side but you can work with different sizes. Trim two edges of each triangle.
Step 2
Take a triangle and fold it in the middle.
Step 3
Keep folding the triangle, the number of folds doesn’t matter as long as it’s symmetrical.
Step 4
Pass a needle through the folds to make holes in the leather.
Step 5
Take the needle off and pass the wire through the holes you just made.
Step 6
Put a bead on each side of the leather piece. And repeat steps 2 to 5 for the others triangles.
Step 7
Using the pliers, make a loop at the end of the wire. Cut two pieces of chain, about 8’ length. Pass the chain in the loop and secure it.
Step 8
Cut the wire at the right dimension and make a loop at the other end. Pass the chain and secure it.
Step 9
The last thing you need to do is fixing the clasp.
And you are done, enjoy your pretty leather necklace! Using the same technique you can work with different triangles size or other leather colors and make a lot of different DIY necklaces.
