Haryana fended off a strong Bengal side in the pre-quarterfinal to march into the last eight where they trumped Gujarat. Chasing a 197-run target at the same ground, Haryana stumbled before eking out a two-wicket win. Meanwhile, Karnataka made a nervy entry into the semi-finals after edging Baroda by only five runs at the Motibaug Cricket Ground.
Karnataka skipper Mayank Agarawal has been running a purple patch this season, having smashed four centuries in his last six innings, including three in succession. Agarawal has aggregated 619 runs in eight innings. Leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal and seamer V Koushik leads the bowling charts for Karnataka with 16 and 15 wickets respectively. Haryana’s hopes will be pinned on skipper Ankit Kumar who has recorded 419 runs thus far with pacer Anshul Kamboj being a revelation with the ball, bagging 16 wickets.
