One of the most anticipated fixtures in the English calendar, Liverpool’s Premier League fixture with Manchester United, will go ahead as scheduled on Sunday despite adverse weather conditions and snowfall.
“Today’s fixture against Manchester United will go ahead as planned. Two safety meetings were held earlier to assess the weather and travel conditions,” @LFC posted on X. “We thank everyone involved in helping us to get this game on today. If you’re travelling to Anfield then please take extra care. We look forward to seeing you there.”
“Following a second safety meeting, it has been decided that today’s match between Manchester United and Liverpool will go ahead,” @ManUtd confirmed. “There have been snowfall and weather warnings across the North West on Sunday but it has been deemed safe for fans to attend the 16:30 GMT kick-off (10 pm IST). Take care if you are travelling to Merseyside today.”

United are in woeful form under new manager Ruben Amorim whereas Liverpool top the standings with 45 points and have a game in hand over the other title contenders. They are five points ahead of second-placed Arsenal, while United, with five losses in their last six league games, are languishing in 14th with 22 points.
Liverpool’s Merseyside derby against Everton was postponed last month due to adverse weather conditions caused by storm.
