The film is about India’s former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and her rise to power after the death of her father and India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. It also speaks about the claims that she usurped power from her father. The film also focuses on the 1971 war and how the emergency period was one of the darkest times for India.
