24 year old loses 34 kilos in less than 5 months; shares diet plan

For Roorkee’s Urvashi, losing 34 kilos in less than 5 months is more than any achievement. The Tarot reader decided to embark on a

weight loss journey

when she was at her highest at 99 kilos.
We at TOI Lifestyle spoke to Urvashi Karnwal on her exceptional weight loss journey.
The turning point: When it became hard for me to even walk for 5 minutes, and when I was diagnosed with peptic ulcer, fatty liver and gall stone I knew that this is high time that I should take care of myself, I have always been in obese category but this time I proved to myself and all the people who used to bully me a lot that what a real transformation looks like but one thing I would like to mention that I was in love with myself in my every phase of life whether I was obese or fit, people should not judge you or underestimate you just because of your looks
Your breakfast: Fruits, a good amount of fruits like papaya, guava, apple

Your lunch: First I always finish my salad portion to feel full and then I used to take two chapatis with one katori sabzi or dal
Your dinner: My dinner was same as lunch
Pre-workout meal: My lunch used to work like my pre workout meal because I worked out in evening
Post- workout meal: Protein Shake or sometimes fruits
What you eat on your cheat days: I didn’t have any cheat days
Low-calorie recipes you swear by: Fruits because they are super low in calories and great for volume eating
My workout: Weight training in gym and walking 15000 steps everyday
Fitness secrets you unveiled: Always count your calories and make everything at home, you can enjoy your healthy yet tasty meals if you are craving pasta sandwich anything make it at home with less oil and more nutrition Finishing dinner till 7:30 pm and not drinking water till one hour of eating any meal is the most important thing, diet plays the most important role
How do you stay motivated?
I saw myself in the transformed version of myself and I was done with the bullying by relatives and friends and shopkeepers telling me that my size is not available I was done being hurt it was time to prove my loyalty for myself
How do you ensure you don’t lose focus?
By watching and keeping some photos of my favourite celebrity everyday and also some photos of super models in their best shape i used to save them everyday in my phone, I took a challenge of 100 days at first but after watching the result i kept going till i reach my normal BMI
What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?
My feet used to be swollen if i wear any type of sandals or heels and walk for even like two minutes, respiratory problems i was facing and i hated being clicked and always denying any trips or buying clothes to avoid embarrassment, my energy levels were so low and I developed emotional eating disorder as well as now i have a little body dysmorphia
What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line?
I want to stay fit always working out, lean muscular version of myself
What are the lifestyle changes you made?
A habit of walking in early morning and cooking my dinner till 8 pm maximum, working out everyday and drinking water after one hour of a meal
What was the lowest point for you?
When I used to hide my fat by wearing loose clothes and people giving me advices and saying you will look better only if you will lose weight i was so upset and depressed that i stopped visiting any family gatherings and then i went from XXXL to size M
Lessons learnt from weight loss: Stay active everyday, eat homemade food, whatever you like, make it at home and eat according to your maintenance calories. If you want to maintain your weight, always go for calories. They really work miracles.
